Supported by matching grants from Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and the The National Endowment for the Arts, CHEER has just produced a series of original audio plays and donated them to hospitals nationwide.
Our plays, A CHEER Christmas, A CHEER Halloween, CHEER in Outer Space, and The Great Ice Cream Sundae Contest, have been donated to 600 hospitals in all 50 states, bringing CHEER to 1,000,000 girls and boys! The beautifully illustrated cassette covers were designed by our Vice-President, Les Bildner. The plays were written by our President, Howard Menkes, and earned him a nomination for a National Medal of Arts.
In A CHEER Christmas, Santa Claus encounters the fiendish Anti-Claus. Anti-Claus wants to spoil Christmas with the worst toys ever concocted, but Santa, along with Mrs.. Claus, his loyal elf sidekick, and the CIA (Christmas Intelligence Agency), gives him a reason to be jolly!
Howard and Leslie can get wonderful gifts by Trick-or-Treating at an elf's house in A CHEER Halloween! But first, they must solve a riddle with the help of their friends-a snake, an owl, and a squirrel!
CHEER in Outer Space follows pickle factory workers Burt Plutzlard and Skeeter Champagne in their quest to present the ultimate Show-and-Tell story! Did I mention that the King and Queen of the planet Schwabuno join them?
Little Bobby, Patty, and Chuckie try to raise Mr. 'Ice Cream' Cohen's entry fee for The Great Ice Cream Sundae Contest. They put on a show that leaves the crowd screaming-but not exactly for more!
