IN THE LIBRARY

When I graduated from school, I went looking for a

      career

An astronaut or fireman or railroad engineer

So I paid a visit to my local library

Seeking help with my itinerary

I asked, "How do you get a job as a librarian?"

"You have to be well read," they said. "And a

      humanitarian."

"The librarian's job is harder than it looks

There's more to it than just reshelving books

You have to answer questions while keeping

      everyone quiet

It's like going to an All-You-Can-Eat restaurant

      while being on a diet

The hours are long, the work demanding, and not

      alot of pay

And you can't leave at night 'til all the books are

      put away

But the rewards are great, when you help

someone do their homework or finish a book

      report

Or find a book on building things, or play their

      favorite sport!"

And though I didn't become a librarian, I

developed great respect for their work

So now I'm always quiet in the library, instead of

      screaming like a jerk!
